Synth Stand Upgrades
New keyboard rack to hold the Virus TI and MiniBrute

For a long time, I’ve kept my keyboards off the ground with a light, collapsible X stand. To be honest, I don’t even remember when or where I bought it, I think I’ve had it since high school. But, I recently picked up a Virus TI (in the picture) which is heavier than my MIDI controllers and felt a bit unstable on the stand. So, an upgrade was in order. And since two synths are always better than one, I decided it should clearly have two tiers.

I’d been thinking about upgrading for some time, and had dreams of grand whole-wall installations like in all of the cool studio pictures. But, I don’t have that many synthesizers, and Abby says I don’t need that many synthesizers, so I reeled it in a bit. I ended up with the Quik Lok Z-726 which is pretty popular with the reddit r/synthesizers crowd. The double layer is nice, as it gives me a home for the MiniBrute and helps fulfil my dream of playing two synthesizers at once. Assembling the stand was pretty straightfoward, and it seems pretty well built.
